"Let food be your medicine." — Hippocrates

New Health Medical Center's Prescription Food Plan

For those serious about their health and preventing future serious health crises, a complete, personalized prescription food plan should be your ultimate goal. Because our Center for Natural Medicine assesses and treats each patient's overall physical and mental well-being, this personalized diet plan is also our goal. On a large page, the plan lists all foods under categories such as vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds, meat, poultry, fish, and spices. Color coding quickly identifies healthful foods based on all input criteria. The computer program is based on relevant research, as well as foods to avoid and those to eat infrequently. Based on test results, the plan also clearly identifies individual food allergens or sensitivities. Additionally, data on ideal weight, daily calories, and daily carbohydrate, protein, and fat content are provided based on body measurements (including fat composition). Accompanying information allows for the use of a food diary and provides shopping, cooking, and dietary guidelines.

The first step in developing a prescription food plan is to schedule a naturopathic medical consultation with Dr. Kitaeff. He will take a complete medical history and perform an examination. Next, he will recommend a complete blood chemistry panel, including an assessment of thyroid, vitamins D and B12, blood type, and viral infection factors. Additional body chemistry testing will assess mineral levels, including toxic heavy metals, adrenal (stress) hormones, food allergens, and, for certain patients, male or female hormones or digestive stool analysis. All data from this testing will be combined with information from the medical history and examination, body type, blood type, and body measurements to generate a complete, personalized food plan from a computer.

Are you curious about how well these foods are helping your body? Then, with the Biophilia Intruder, you can easily determine if they are working and understand your body's status.

This achieves the goal of food as medicine—the ultimate goal of maintaining health through a natural approach. Since all patient health conditions are included as criteria for the program, dietary recommendations are based on all available clinical research on therapeutic nutrition for these conditions. Furthermore, if you're trying to lose weight, knowing which foods are right for your body is clearly valuable for maintaining long-term weight loss.
