3D NLS method. Scanning was performed using a Metatron Hunter 4025 with a software program that allows visualization of all bones, surrounding soft tissue and lymph nodes. The NLS study begins with a systemic assessment and continues with a detailed assessment of the following body regions: head and neck; trunk and proximal shoulders; pelvis and proximal femur. The study protocol for each anatomical section included the following data: large-scale NLS scans in 3D in 3 mutually transverse planes; ultramicroscan patterns in the region of interest analyzed with spectral entropy. The total time required for the study is approximately 30 minutes.

Within 2 h after intravenous injection of 740 Mbk 99mTs-Technephore, bone scans of the skeletal system were performed in anterior and posterior views using a dual-detector gamma camera according to standard methods. Images are captured using a low-energy, high-resolution collimated optics system; the entire stage moves at a speed of 12-16 cm/min. The scanning process takes 15-20 minutes.

Focal or diffuse (homogeneous or heterogeneous) increases in chromogenicity of lesions of more than 4 points according to the Fleindler scale were considered a sign of metastatic disease during NLS imaging. Hyperspectral similarity (D<0,425) to the standard «metastatic tumor subclones» is often referred to as metastatic lesions. Validation of the spectral entropy analysis results was based on histological examination of rings received after ring biopsy of bone tissue in the region of interest. Results of spectral entropy analysis were confirmed by histological methods in 99.1% of cases.

Estimate the probability of metastatic disease (when performing a bone scan) based on the location and number of hyperactive lesions, taking into account radiopharmaceutical overfixation therein.
