NLS Imaging Using the Biophilia Tracker Scanner as a Diagnostic Method for Breast Cancer (BC)

Breast cancer (BC) ranks first among female malignancies. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) expert assessment, by 2015, there will be 1 to 1.5 million new breast cancer patients worldwide every year. Women with other benign pathological processes would require treatment and monitoring 25 to 30 times as often as women with breast cancer. Diagnosis of breast disease, including cancer, is a major goal.

Combining the clinical practice introduction of modern X-ray, ultrasound and radiology equipment, and a new diagnostic method - three-dimensional (3D) virtual NLS-contrast, we can now perform combined examinations on female patients to diagnose breast diseases.

NLS imaging with the Biophilia Tracker scanner can be considered both a screening diagnostic method and an updated diagnostic method (when using ultrascanning and SEA) to address controversial issues regarding breast lesion strategy and treatment. 3D NLS imaging allows us to obtain 3D images of the overall structure of the breast and slices in any plane, the axillary area with lymph nodes, the posterior breast space with all layers of the chest wall, and to differentiate the retrosternal lymph nodes. Three-dimensional NLS studies can detect changes in mammary glands during various pathological processes, determining their size, form and structure.

NLS-Ultramicroscopy allows us to perform accurate hierarchical visualization of glandular structures (skin, subcutaneous tissue, glands, connective and adipose tissue, blood vessels).

SEA can identify morphological features of tumors through its spectral similarity to etalon processes, assess metastatic invasion of lymph nodes, identify the presence and characteristic genetic aberrations in tumor subclones, and ultimately determine the extent of surgical intervention.

Biophilia Tracker and other series of products are more and more rich in the direction of diagnosing diseases.
